Job summary

UK King\'s Daughters in Ashland, Kentucky, is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform high-frequency ultrasound imaging across vascular, abdominal, OB/GYN, and other specialties. You will ensure image quality, assist with diagnostic planning, and collaborate with physicians to support patient care.

Graduates from a JRCERT-accredited program with 0–2 years of experience are welcome. Certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist or Sonographer and BLS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a JRCERT accredited program.
• 0–2 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area. All experience must be paid and in the same related field.
• Registered Vascular Technologist or Registered Vascular Sonographer, BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient identity and examination orders, obtains clinical history, and communicates relevant information.
• Prepared patients for examinations and explains procedures clearly.
• Performs ultrasound procedures across multiple specialties, including vascular, abdominal, retroperitoneal, OB/GYN, Doppler, and Color Doppler.
• Observes and responds to patients’ physical and psychological needs during procedures, monitoring for signs of distress.
• Operates and maintains ultrasound equipment, demonstrating competency in all required techniques.
• Provides technical assistance for surgical biopsy and aspiration procedures, maintaining a sterile field.
• Performs diagnostic testing on equipment and promptly reports malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
• Contacts field engineers and coordinates equipment service as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
