Overview

Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care for assigned patients. Coordinates patient care with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality. Performs vascular ultrasound procedures for interpretation by physicians. Provides essential patient care during vascular ultrasound procedures, aligning with Mercy’s mission, values, and standards.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from a sonography school or on-the-job training with a registered Preceptor in Cardiac ultrasound.
• Experience: Over two years as a cardiovascular sonographer; experience may include on-the-job training with a registered Preceptor.
• Certification/Registration: ARDMS/RVT or ARDMS/RDCS or CCI/RVS; IV certification required; BLS certification.
• Skills: Performs routine exams, stress tests, TEE, IV procedures, and specialized procedures like EVLT, RF ablations, TCD. May serve as a super user for technology/equipment.
