Job summary

Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for Special Procedures. You will perform and assist in endovascular procedures, maintain equipment, and ensure quality patient care. A strong background in radiologic technology and sterile technique is required.

Responsibilities include emergency readiness, teaching staff, and coordinating with OR education. The role offers a sign-on bonus and a standard 40-hour week with on-call duties.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Radiologic Technology from an approved program.
  • Completion of Special Procedures Training or one year experience as a technologist in Special Procedures.
  • Sterile technique training program provided by OR education coordinator if no prior Special Procedures experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure readiness of emergency equipment and supplies.
  • Recognize and react to potential emergency situations.
  • Provide technologist coverage for 24-hour emergency endovascular surgical services.
  • Perform or assist in procedures and diagnostic tests and maintain records.
  • Provide instruction and education to healthcare personnel and patients to promote quality care.
  • Perform routine analysis on imaging equipment to ensure proper working conditions.

Schedule Details/Additional Information: Willing to consider RCIS qualified candidate based on program curriculum, relative work experience and interview process.

Pay Range: $33.05 - $49.60

This position is sign on bonus eligible

Position Highlights
  • Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 sign-on bonus ($10,000 for new graduates) provided the candidate meets the eligibility requirements
  • Location: Winston Salem, NC
  • Hours: Monday-Friday 0830 to 1700, on-call responsibilities and holiday coverage
Education/Experience
  • Associate's degree from an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Completion of Special Procedures Training Program or one year experience as a technologist in Special Procedures.
  • Completion of one week sterile technique training program to be provided by the OR education coordinator, if no prior Special Procedures experience or/with surgical technique
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required.
  • CPR certification required - BLS.
  • Registered Cardiovascular-Interventional Technologist (ARRT- CV or VI) preferred.
Essential Functions
  • Ensures readiness of emergency equipment and supplies.
  • Recognizes and reacts appropriately to potential emergency situations.
  • Provides technologist coverage for 24-hour emergency endovascular surgical services.
  • Performs or assists in performing procedures and/or diagnostic tests and/or therapeutic exams, as well as maintains files and compiles records according to procedure as required for accurate and current departmental records and/or reports.
  • Provides instruction, education and consultation to health care personnel and patients to promote and improve quality patient care and maintains appropriate education/credentials to accomplish work objectives.
  • Performs routine analysis on imaging equipment to assure proper working conditions and a minimum of downtime.
