Job summary

Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - Interventional Radiology within Advocate Health in Winston-Salem, NC is hiring a full-time Radiology Interventional Technologist. The role covers specialized radiography and fluoroscopic procedures, patient prep, and post-procedure documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualified candidates will hold ARRT/RCIS certification, complete an accredited radiology interventional program, and possess ARRT CV/CI/VI or equivalent. BLS is required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an ARRT-recognized radiologic technology program.
  • Completion of an accredited Radiology Interventional Program or ARRT/RCIS track.
  • Currently registered and certified by ARRT or RCIS.
  • Advanced Certification (ARRT CV, CI or VI) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs radiography and fluoroscopic coverage for interventional procedures under physician supervision.
  • Explain procedures to patients and prepare them for imaging.
  • Obtain medications and contrast materials as directed for procedures.
  • Circulate during procedures and ensure patient comfort and safety.
  • Provide supplies for diagnostic and invasive procedures.
  • Remove catheters and apply pressure as needed.
  • Document hemodynamic and contrast records promptly.
  • Report equipment malfunctions to leadership or engineering.

Position Highlights
  • Sign On Bonus: $15,000 sign on bonus for qualified new hires or $10,000 for qualified new graduates in this specialty.
What you Need
  • Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic Technology.
  • Completion of an accredited Radiology Interventional Program required or an ARRT/RCIS graduate from a Cardiovascular Interventional Training Program.
  • Registered and certified by the ARRT or RCIS required.
  • Advanced Certification (ARRT – CV, CI, or VI) required.
  • BLS required
What you Will Do
  • Performs specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage of interventional and angiographic procedures under the direction of a physician.
  • Explains the procedure to the patient and preps the patient for the procedure.
  • Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist, or registered nurse.
  • Circulates during the procedure and maintains responsibility for patient comfort.
  • Provides supplies necessary for diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures.
  • Removes catheters/sheaths and applies direct pressure or clamp as appropriate.
  • Provides necessary report information to the holding area or nursing unit as needed.
  • Records and processes hemodynamic reports, contrast media records and charges promptly and accurately.
  • Communicates equipment malfunctions to leadership or department engineer for repairs.
