Job summary

StrideCare in Houston, TX seeks a Radiology Technologist (R.T.) to join the surgical team as a PRN member. The role involves performing x-ray procedures in operating and special procedure rooms, processing images, and assisting with case prep and equipment readiness.

Required are an accredited radiologic technology program, RT certification with fluoroscopy permit, and current CPR. This position requires standing, lifting up to 40 pounds, and adherence to infection control and OSHA guidelines,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
• R.T. Certification and Fluoroscopy Permit required.
• Current CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble supplies and positioning aids per physician preference cards.
• Test and monitor radiology equipment for proper function.
• Ensure all personnel are shielded before activating x-ray.
• Follow federal/state regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
• Assist with inventory control and suite turnover/cleaning.
• Provide support to staff, physicians, and visitors using strong guest relations.
• Serve as a resource to other staff members.
• Follow all infection control and OSHA guidelines, including PPE use.
• Participate in staff education, QI activities, and staff meetings.
• Maintain required certifications and assist in emergencies.
• Support new employee/student orientation and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The R.T. conducts x-ray procedures in the operating and special procedure rooms, processes images, and ensures proper equipment calibration. They may assist in preparing supplies/equipment for cases and contribute to case prep for the following day.
