Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our perioperative team. You will scrub, prepare, and maintain instrumentation and supplies under the supervision of an RN and surgeon, ensuring sterile technique in a high-volume OR environment.

The Advanced Surgical Technologist track offers opportunities to support complex procedures in Cardiothoracic, Transplant, Neurosurgery, or Vascular services and to contribute to protocol development and workflow

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited or military surgical technology program.
• Certification in Surgical Technology from NBSTSA required within one year of hire date and maintained thereafter.
• Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.

Responsibilities

• The Surgical Technologist provides safe and efficient care to the surgical patient under the supervision of the RN and in collaboration with the surgeon.
• The Surgical Technologist functions primarily in the scrub role and is responsible for selecting, preparing, and maintaining instrumentation, equipment, and supplies.
• The Surgical Technologist utilizes knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique and is able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the perioperative setting.
• Advanced Surgical Technologist supports complex procedures and contributes to protocol development and workflow optimization for advanced service lines.
