Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Surgical Technologist to deliver safe, efficient perioperative care under RN supervision and in collaboration with the surgeon.

The role centers on the scrub duties: selecting, preparing, and maintaining instrumentation, supplies, and equipment while applying sterile technique and adapting to varying cases. BLS may be required; NBSTSA cert within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited or military surgical technology program.
• 1 year of surgical tech experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Surgical Technologist provides safe and efficient care to the surgical patient under the supervision of the RN and in collaboration with the surgeon.
• Functions in the scrub role and is responsible for selecting, preparing, and maintaining instrumentation, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintains knowledge of sterile/aseptic technique and adapts to unpredictable perioperative situations.
