Job description

Henry Ford Health's (HFH) Division of Vascular Neurology part of the Department of Neurology, located in southeastern Michigan, is seeking a Board-eligible/Board-certified Vascular Neurologist to join our multidisciplinary team in Detroit at Henry Ford Hospital. Henry Ford's Neuroscience Institute is one of the largest and most active in the Midwest, offering the most advanced neurologic medical and surgical therapies across all the major subspecialties.

This position offers the potential for academic endeavors including:

  • Clinical research: we are active in clinical trials and neurology research. All centers within the Henry Ford Neuroscience Institute conduct research, with a major focus on translational research to fast-track scientific discovery from bench to bedside.
  • A teaching/mentoring role: with medical students, neurology residents, and vascular neurology fellows.
  • A tenure-track academic appointment: available for those who qualify, through Michigan State University - College of Human Medicine and Medicine and Wayne State School of Medicine.

Supported by our dedicated team of Neurologists as well as the HFH Departments of Neurosurgery and Radiology there is a tremendous potential for program growth and most importantly to have an impact on the neurological health of the community.

The Henry Ford Health System's Department of Neurology has over 60 Neurologists and has been a leader in pioneering new treatments for stroke and critical care and is recognized worldwide for its laboratory, translational, and clinical research. Henry Ford's Neuroscience Institute is one of the largest and most active medically and surgically in the Midwest, offering the most advanced neurologic medical and surgical therapies. Henry Ford Hospital has been recognized by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a designated stroke center for over 20 years.

Our Department of Neurology has a long tradition of excellence in stroke care. Our Stroke team provides integrated care at Henry Ford Hospital, a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center with AHA/ASA Gold Plus and Target Stroke Honor Roll Elite status. Our HF West Bloomfield Hospital is a Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center and has Gold Elite status. Our three other hospitals are Primary Stroke Centers with HF Macomb, HF Jackson and HF Wyandotte hospitals and they have achieved Stroke Gold Plus with Honor Roll Elite recognition from the AHA.
