Job summary

Henry Ford Health's Neuromuscular Program seeks a board eligible/certified Neurologist with fellowship training in Neurophysiology and/or Neuromuscular medicine to join our multidisciplinary team. The program has extensive EMG labs and a history of active clinical trials, education, and research collaboration.

This academic practice offers teaching opportunities for medical students, residents, and fellows, with the potential for a tenure-track academic appointment through partner universities.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an ACGME/AOA Neurology residency is required.
  • Completion of neuromuscular and/or neurophysiology fellowship is required.
  • Board-eligible/board-certified in Neurology is required.

Responsibilities

  • Teach medical students, neurology residents, and neurophysiology fellows.
  • Provide neuromuscular/EMG clinical care as part of an academic practice.

Job Description

The Neuromuscular Program with Henry Ford Health is seeking a board eligible/certified Neurologist with additional fellowship training in Neurophysiology/and or Neuromuscular to join our multi-disciplinary team. With 12 fellowship-trained Neurologists and one Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation/Sports Medicine Physician, Henry Ford’s Neuromuscular Program has over 25 years of experience in the medical management of neuromuscular diseases. Our busy clinical practice completes over 10,000 visits and 4,000 EMGs annually. Our five electromyography (EMG) labs have been designated Accreditation with Exemplary Status by the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

  • Utilize EMG labs with designated Accreditation of Exemplary Status by AANEM that are equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation and provide expertise in single-fiber EMG, ultrasound, and autonomic testing.
  • Opportunity to teach medical students, neurology residents, and neurophysiology fellows.
  • This subspecialty academic practice position also offers a tenure-track academic appointment for those who qualify, through Michigan State University - College of Human Medicine and Wayne State University School of Medicine.

As an academic program, we are active in clinical trials and neurology research. Henry Ford’s Neuroscience Institute is one of the largest and most active in the Midwest, offering the most advanced neurologic medical and surgical therapies across all the major subspecialties. Currently, more than 180 clinical trials are ongoing for patients with neurological diseases. All centers within the Henry Ford Neuroscience Institute conduct research, with a major focus on translational research to fast-track scientific discovery from bench to bedside. We also have the Harry J. Hoenselaar multi-disciplinary ALS clinic which is a certified treatment center of excellence.

Qualifications
  • Must have completed an ACGME/AOA approved Neurology residency program.
  • Must be completing or have completed an ACGME approved Neuromuscular/and or a Neurophysiology Fellowship program.
  • Must be board-eligible/board-certified in Neurology.
