Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Sonographer with a specialization in vascular ultrasound to join our team as a Vascular Lab Technologist. In this role, you'll perform high-quality non-invasive vascular ultrasound studies, assist physicians in diagnostic procedures, and operate advanced ultrasound equipment in inpatient and outpatient settings. As part of our IAC-accredited lab, you'll collaborate with a dedicated sonography team to deliver outstanding patient care. This PRN position will fill staffing gaps during busy weekdays and weekends.

Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Operate all equipment used in the Vascular Lab for testing, including portable studies for ICU and emergent procedures.
  2. Understand vascular anatomy and physiology to perform safe, reliable, and reproducible exams.
  3. Assist physicians with procedures, providing sonographic guidance, and monitor patient needs.
  4. Collect and interpret clinical information from patient interviews, assessments, and medical charts.
  5. Formulate preliminary reports for physicians using digital reporting systems.
  6. Maintain documentation including patient files, procedures, accreditation, and peer review records.
  7. Establish good relationships with patients and healthcare team members.
  8. Teach ultrasound procedures to visitors and participate in ongoing professional development.
  9. Follow safety protocols, including fire procedures and universal precautions.
  10. Participate in quality control and improvement activities within the Vascular Lab.
Working Conditions

Includes office and patient care settings, requiring safety training, exposure to blood-borne pathogens, chemicals, and on-call duties. Physical activities involve standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting over 25 lbs. Equipment used includes office and diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

Education: Associate degree or equivalent experience.

Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association or Red Cross), RVS (CCI), RVT (ARDMS).

Work Experience: None required.

Skills: Effective communication, manual dexterity, multitasking, vascular sonography skills.

Additional: Driver's license not required.

Additional Requirements
  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire.
  • Certifications should be current and meet specified standards.
Compensation

$35.99 - $55.79 per hour, based on qualifications and performance.
