Under the general guidance and direction of the supervising physician, the Physician Assistant provides medical consultation, routine patient care, and follow-up as directed. Assists the physician with procedures and serves as a liaison between the physician and the patient. Collaborates consistently with the supervising physician, nursing staff, support staff, and other members of the health care team.
Performs other job duties as assigned. This position requires age-specific competency and may require participation in on-call status.
Heart Hospital: In conjunction with the Medical Director, develops evidence-based protocols, provides and compiles outcome data, and assists with the implementation of acute care and rehabilitation of patients with cerebral vascular disease.
