Job summary

Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, VA is seeking a Vascular Lab Technologist for the Cardiac non-invasive lab. This full-time, day shift role requires residency within 30 minutes for on-call duties.

The position supports the echocardiography and vascular lab, performing exams and collaborating with cardiology and CT surgery teams using EPIC and ProSolv systems. Certification and BLS are required, with 1 year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required with experience and certification.
• Certification: RVS or RVT.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Perform approximately seven exams per day in the vascular lab.
• Collaborate with invasive cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery teams.
• Generate preliminary reports in ProSolv (Structured Report SW).

Overview

Sentara RMH Medical Center is hiring an Vascular Lab Technologist for the Cardiac service line non-invasive lab. This is a full time, day shift position in Harrisonburg, Va. Must live within 30 minutes of the facility for call purposes.

Hours

Schedule can be either four 9-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts with start time of 8am.

Required Call

every 4th weekend from 8am to noon on Saturday and Sunday.

Sentara RMH Medical Center echocardiography and vascular lab is considered high volume with close to 9,500 procedures performed annually. The lab works closely with our invasive cardiology (structural heart, electrophysiology, diagnostic/interventional cath) and cardiothoracic surgery services.Each Team member is expected to perform about 7 exams per day. Preliminary reports are generated in ProSolv (Structured Report SW Application). Clinical equipment include state of the art Philips Epic ultrasound systems and EPIC (electronic medical record). Both inpatient and outpatient echo services are located on the Sentara RMH Medical Center main campus within the non-invasive cardiology lab.

Education

• High School Diploma required with experience and certification required, Associate Degree preferred

Certification/Licensure

• Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) OR Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
• BLS required

Experience

• 1 year of experience preferred
• Communication with patients and providers required
• provide accurate diagnostic information required
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of echocardiographic techniques, equipment, and industry standards required
