Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group is seeking a Registered Vascular Specialist to perform noninvasive vascular tests in our Vascular Surgery office. The role includes preparing equipment, interviewing patients, and explaining procedures to ensure patient comfort.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent and up to one year of basic technical training in allied health science and no previous experience plus three months or less of on-the-job training and orientation.
• Certification: Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) Certification

Responsibilities

• Receives requests for procedures and arranges for patient testing by ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available to perform requested test.
• Interviews patients to gather and record pertinent personal and medical information and performs physical examination including vital signs and limb assessment.
• Explains test procedures to patients and/or family members to allay fears and elicit cooperation; assists patients in preparing for tests.
• Determines appropriate positioning of patients and equipment to obtain graphic responses and assists with patient handling.
• Operates specialized equipment to conduct non-invasive vascular tests.
• Observes patients during procedures and notifies physicians or nursing staff of irregularities.
