Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking an experienced Pre-op Registered Nurse for the Vascular and Interventional Center. The role involves caring for patients in a 25-bed prep/recovery unit with cross-training across interventional radiology, neuro, and vascular procedures, including patients recovering from moderate sedation and general anesthesia.

A generous sign-on bonus is offered. Full-time Days, 36 hours/week, with weekend call every 6th to 7th weekend.

Qualifications

• RN licensed to practice in Virginia or eligible.
• Pre-op/perioperative experience preferred.
• Ability to administer medications and monitor patients.
• Willingness to cover weekend call on a rotation.

Responsibilities

• Assess/admit patients and perform rounds.
• Administer medications and monitor patient status.
• Communicate with families and document care.
• Care for patients recovering from sedation and anesthesia.
• Support cross-training for interventional radiology, neuro, and vascular cases.

Full Time, Days, 36 hours per week

Department/Position Overview

Days, Monday - Friday. The prep area is open from 6am-5 pm. Nurses take weekend call every 6th to 7th weekend between the hours of 7am-3pm.

• Our department has 25-bed prep & recovery unit, 8 procedure rooms and 2 Vascular Hybrid OR's
• Nurses in this unit will be cross trained to care for interventional radiology, neuro, and vascular procedures and OR patients.
• Provide care for patients recovering from both Moderate Sedation and General Anesthesia.

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
