Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Surgical Trauma ICU. This 16-bed unit delivers high-acuity care in a Level I trauma center with night shifts and rotating schedules.

You will apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support surgical transplant and vascular patients. A BSN/MSN is preferred; RN license and BLS required.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing is required.
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• Active RN license; BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum 1 year of emergency, ICU, or med/surg experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care in the 16-bed Surgical Trauma ICU.
• Perform assessments, care planning, and coordination with care teams.
• Utilize nursing process for patient teaching and discharge planning.
• Manage ventilated patients and complex critical care needs as required.
