Job summary

Regions Hospital is seeking a Vascular Access Technician to join our Vascular Access team. The role involves placing PIVs, changing PICC dressings, and assisting the VAS RN with procedures. Training on US-guided PIV placement is available.

We value teamwork and patient-focused care as part of a Level I Trauma Center. Hours are 28 per week, nights, with every-other weekend and holiday requirements; benefits are included for .5 FTE or greater.

Qualifications

• Two years of applicable health care experience OR completion of a related health care training program (e.g., CMA, EMT, paramedic, phlebotomist).
• Ability to independently initiate appropriate tasks of the role and follow written/verbal instructions.
• CPR for the professional rescuer or BLS for healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Place peripheral IVs (PIVs) and change PICC dressings.
• Assist Vascular Access RN with procedures as needed.
• Provide difficult-to-access lab and PIV support and obtain blood samples when required.
