Job summary

Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, FL seeks a Clinician for the Vascular Access Team (Nights) to provide expert nursing care focused on vascular access management. You will autonomously insert and manage midlines, PICCs, and difficult IVs, while collaborating with leadership on unit operations and policy development.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and Florida RN licensure; 2+ years of nursing experience with IV therapy is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Current RN licensure in Florida.
• At least 2 years of nursing experience including initiation of IV therapy.
• VA-BC certification preferred.
• Ultrasound experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently insert and manage midline catheters, PICCs, and difficult peripheral IVs using advanced clinical skills.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments to determine vascular access needs.
• Provide ongoing surveillance of vascular access devices for complications.
• Document assessments, insertions, surveillance, and interventions accurately in medical records.
• Serve as a clinical expert and resource for vascular access across the organization.
• Participate in infusion-related committees and contribute to policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement staff and patient education on infusion therapy and vascular access.
• Analyze surveillance data to identify trends and quality improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with Nurse Manager on unit operations and staff orientation.
• Deliver nursing care that ensures patient safety and aligns with Tampa General Hospital mission.
