Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is seeking a Phlebotomist – Vascular Access Tech to obtain quality blood samples using diverse methods across age groups, with strict regulatory adherence. You will work at Mayo Clinic Hospital campuses (Rochester Methodist and St.

Mary’s) within patient care areas, ED, ICU, and ORs. Responsibilities include accurate patient ID, labeling, specimen handling and transport, with proficiency in various computer systems and strong communication for patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy training with clinical rotation or 3 months phlebotomy work experience required.
• National Phlebotomy certification must be obtained within 14 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain quality blood samples using various phlebotomy methods with strict safety adherence.
• Ensure accurate patient identification and specimen labeling, handling and transport.
• Perform testing using Point of Care equipment and maintain confidentiality.
• Assist with training of students and new employees.
