Job summary

Nationwide-Children is seeking a pediatric vascular access nurse for night shifts (7p–7a), 36 hours per week with every third weekend and holiday rotation. The role involves inserting and managing vascular access devices in pediatric patients, with emphasis on safety and family education.

Eligible candidates will hold a BSN or ASN with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years and possess Ohio RN licensure. One year of related experience is preferred; benefits are available.

Qualifications

  • BSN or Associate degree with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire, required.
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio, required.
  • One year post-orientation clinical experience in area of specialty, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patients' vascular access needs and determines the most appropriate access device.
  • Cares for and maintains peripheral IVs, midline catheters, and PICCs; monitors for complications.
  • Provides education to patients and families on vascular access care and maintenance.
  • Collaborates with healthcare professionals to develop and implement vascular access policies and procedures.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance safety and efficacy of vascular access care.
