Job summary

Southern New Hampshire Health is seeking an Intravenous Specialist to assess and manage vascular access and IV therapy across the facility. The role focuses on ultrasound-guided placement of midlines and PICC lines, with an emphasis on patient-centered plans of care and teamwork.

The ideal candidate has NH RN licensure, VACC certification within a year, and at least 3 years of related experience, plus strong communication and teaching skills to support clinical staff and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Current New Hampshire licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Certification by the Vascular Access Certification Corporation (VACC) within one year of hire.
• Minimum of three (3) years of related clinical experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in vascular access and intravenous therapy practices.
• Strong communication, teaching, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize patient care needs.

Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasound technology for midline and PICC line placement.
• Assess patient vascular access needs and prioritize care accordingly.
• Utilize vein visualization technology to support vascular access procedures.
• Maintain expert-level peripheral IV insertion skills.
• Function independently while managing patient and departmental priorities.
• Utilize facility IT systems for documentation.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
• Educate clinical staff on vascular access best practices and techniques.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support safe IV therapy.
