The Vascular Access Insertion Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing specialized vascular access services in a hospital inpatient and outpatient settings as applicable. This role focuses on the assessment, insertion, management, and maintenance of vascular access devices including PICC lines, Midlines, Extended Dwell Peripheral Catheters (EDPs / PowerGlide), ultrasound-guided peripheral IVs, and other approved vascular access devices. The VAIN nurse collaborates with physicians, nursing staff, case management, infection prevention, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient, and evidence-based patient care.
