Job summary

Propel Schools is seeking an Assistant Varsity Track Coach for the 2026/2027 season at Propel Andrew Street High School, Propel Braddock Hills High School, and Propel Montour High School. The role supports the Varsity program under the head coach and athletic director, with a focus on developing a competitive track program for student-athletes.

Qualifications

• Prior varsity or JV coaching experience.
• Student-athlete experience at high school or intercollegiate level; USATF certification preferred.
• Head coach or assistant coach experience; ability to build a varsity program.
• Support Varsity program with head coach, athletic director and staff.
• Experience with off-season programs per WPIAL/PIAA regulations.
• Attend PIAA preseason meetings and trainings as required.
• Knowledge of track rules, strategies and coaching techniques.
• Strong organization and planning skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Commitment to Propel Habits.

Responsibilities

• Support the Varsity program with the head coach, athletic director and other coaching staff.
• Implement off-season programs in compliance with WPIAL/PIAA regulations.
• Attend required PIAA preseason coaching meetings and trainings.
• Demonstrate coaching skills and knowledge of track rules and strategies.
• Maintain high levels of organization and effective communication with staff and students.
