Job summary

Westfield Public Schools is currently accepting applications for Swimming Varsity Coach at Westfield High School. The stipend is commensurate with the district's Unit A contract, Appendix B, with no benefits. Position is after school/evening and contingent on funding.

Starting date is immediate; the application deadline is posted until filled. The salary range is $4,259 to $4,638 as a stipend for the season.

Qualifications

• Qualities include emotional stability and ability to serve as a role model for students.
• Strong knowledge of the theory and practice of the sport as taught to secondary school students.
• Commitment to teamwork, sportsmanship and adherence to sport rules.
• Ability to work cooperatively with coaching staff and school administrators.
• CPR certification is required by the district.
• Background checks and NFHS concussion certification are required prior to working with students.

Responsibilities

• Be present from the first tryout day until the last day of the season, with practices/competition at least five days a week.
• Supervise teams at all times and ensure athlete welfare.
• Collect uniforms and equipment at season end.
• Maintain fair, unprejudiced relationships with athletes and staff.
