Job summary

Westfield Public Schools is seeking a Gymnastics Varsity Coach for the Fall 2026 season at Westfield High School. The stipend is commensurate with the Unit A contract (Appendix B), with no additional benefits.

The start and end of the season follow MIAA rules and city health regulations, and background checks plus safety certifications are required. The position is after school/evening, with a stipend ranging from $3,851 to $4,200 for the season.

Qualifications

• Emotional stability required for coaching students.
• Ability to serve as a positive role model for students.
• Knowledge of theory and practice of gymnastics for secondary students.
• Emphasis on team play, rules compliance and sportsmanship.
• Ability to work cooperatively with coaching staff and school administrators.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coach gymnastics varsity activities after school/evening.
• Attend practices and competitions five days a week when scheduled.
• Ensure student safety, fairness and proper conduct during events.
• Maintain equipment and manage uniforms at season end.
• Adhere to school, league and health regulations throughout the season.
