Job summary

Manassas Park City Schools seeks a Varsity Assistant Coach for Indoor Track and Field at the high school level. The assistant supports the Head Coach and Athletic Director, instructs athletes in fundamentals, strategies, and conditioning to help the team achieve success. Reports to the Head Coach and Athletic Director.

The role emphasizes safety, supervision, record-keeping, and collaboration with staff. Prior coaching experience and knowledge of the sport are valued, with MPCS staff preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and background in assigned sport.
• Previous coaching experience in assigned sport is desirable.
• MPCS staff preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instructs athletes in fundamentals, strategies, and physical training for team and individual success.
• Instructs participants on personal hygiene and safety procedures and reports injuries promptly.
• Fosters sportsmanship and pride in self, team, school, and community.
• Supports Head Coach with maintaining performance records and equipment inventories.
• Ensures compliance with VHSL rules and MPCS policies.
