Job summary

Centreville Public Schools seeks a Varsity Golf Coach for Centreville High School to lead and develop a competitive program. You will plan practices, mentor student-athletes, communicate with parents and school staff, and represent the district with integrity.

Starting date to be determined; this is a part-time position with responsibilities overseen by the Athletic Director. Prior coaching or teaching experience is desirable; a valid Michigan teaching certificate is preferred.

Qualifications

• Exhibit high moral and ethical conduct and display a positive value system as a role model for the student-athletes.
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of the sport to be coached.
• Display good judgment in dealing with parents, team, administration, public, and the media.
• Develop a program that aligns with the athletic department vision for student-athletes and the department.
• Communicate and work effectively with fellow coaches, staff, administration, and the community.

Responsibilities

• The coach shall be directly responsible to the Athletic Director for the administration, supervision, and evaluation of matters pertaining to his/her assigned areas of responsibility.
• The coach is responsible for the organization, coordination, and interpretation of the assigned sport.

POSITION: VARSITY GOLF COACH

REPORTS TO: Athletic Director

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Exhibit high moral and ethical conduct and display a positive value system as a role model for the student-athletes.


• Demonstrate a clear understanding of the sport to be coached.


• Display good judgment in dealing with parents, team, administration, public, and the media.


• Develop a program that is immersed in the vision of the athletic department in terms of developing the student-athlete as a whole and the department as a whole.


• Communicate and work effectively with fellow coaches, fellow staff members, district administration, and the community.


• Fulfill CPS and M\\SSHAA requirements upon hire.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

• A valid Michigan Teacher's Certificate.


• Prior experience as a coach.


• Experience with an educational institution.
