SUMMARY

Genesee Junior/Senior High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as the Varsity Girls Bowling Coach for the upcoming season. This seasonal position requires an individual who can foster a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes, develop their bowling skills, and promote teamwork and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the game, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to the overall development of the students both on and off the lanes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and conduct daily practices, focusing on skill development, strategy, and teamwork.
• Organize and schedule competitions, including matches and tournaments, ensuring all logistics are managed effectively.
• Provide individual and team coaching to enhance performance and bowling techniques.
• Monitor and evaluate student-athlete performance, providing constructive feedback and support.
• Promote a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes respect, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
• Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team progress, schedules, and any relevant issues.
• Ensure compliance with all school policies, league regulations, and safety guidelines.
• Maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring they are in good condition for practice and competition.
• Attend coaching clinics and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and techniques in bowling.
• Serve as a role model for student-athletes, demonstrating commitment, discipline, and integrity.

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous coaching experience, preferably in bowling or a related sport.
• Strong knowledge of bowling techniques, rules, and strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and school staff.
• Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to reach their full potential.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing practices and competitions.
• First Aid and CPR certification is preferred or must be obtained prior to the start of the season.
• Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends during the bowling season.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in coaching is a plus.
