Job summary

Bethel Park High School is seeking a Girls Basketball Varsity Assistant Coach to support the head coach in developing players’ skills, game plans, and conditioning. The position emphasizes mentoring student athletes and upholding program standards at Bethel Park High School.

The role reports to the athletic director and aligns with district policies while pursuing ongoing coaching development and sport-specific instruction within the Bethel Park School District.

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport.
• Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and openness to new theory.
• Serve as a positive role model for student athletes through instruction and actions.

Responsibilities

• Has thorough knowledge of athletic policies and ensures implementation by staff.
• Knows existing regulations; applies them consistently and interprets for staff.
• Follows proper command lines; attends required meetings and channels requests appropriately.
• Designs conferences, clinics and staff meetings to ensure program awareness.
• Trains staff and encourages professional growth via clinics.
• Delegates duties and analyzes staff effectiveness at season's end.
• Maintains discipline, resolves grievances, and boosts morale.
• Performs other duties as assigned by athletic director/principal.
