Job summary

Ann Arbor Public Schools is seeking a Varsity Field Hockey Coach at Skyline High School for the 2025/2026 season. This non-contractual hourly position reports to the Athletic Director and offers compensation based on experience.

The role requires knowledge of field hockey rules and techniques, ability to coach and mentor student-athletes, and to collaborate with coaching staff, parents, and district staff. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred where applicable.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable about the rules and fundamental techniques of the sport.
• Ability to obtain CPR / First Aid / Lifeguard Certification when applicable.
• Ability to work effectively with coaching staff, parents and school staff.
• Comply with district policies and Athletic Department procedures.

• Maintains consistent communication with Athletic Director.
• Develop positive self image with athletics.
• Attends clinics / workshops related to sport.
• Utilize sound teaching methods to develop skills / techniques.

• Demonstrate positive team sportsmanship toward opponents and officials.
• Demonstrates effective management of pre-contest details.
• Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

NON-CONTRACTUAL (HOURLY) STAFF HIRED WILL BECOME AN EMPLOYEE OF PCMI (THIRD PARTY ADMINISTRATOR). CURRENT CONTRACT STAFF WILL REMAIN ON PAYROLL WITH AAPS. POSITION TITLE: Varsity Field Hockey Coach POSITION LOCATION: Skyline High School SEASON: 2025/2026 School Year SALARY: Based on Experience REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: This position reports directly to the Athletic Director.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent.
