Qualifications

• Experience in physical education or coaching preferred.
• CPR/First Aid knowledge preferred.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; communicate with staff.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individual participants in the sport-specific skills.
• Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in season.
• Oversees the safety conditions of the facility during activities.
• Maintains accurate statistics, records, and results of the season.
• Enforces discipline and sportsmanship; sets penalties for violations.
• Maintains competency in rules, meet procedures, coaching techniques.
• Establishes eligibility criteria for interscholastic competition.
• Consistently applies eligibility criteria for competition.
• Supports injury prevention and follow-up programs.
• Works with the athletics director to schedule intramural and interscholastic contests.
• Recommends purchases of equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
• Maintains attendance forms and insurance records.
• Accounts for all equipment or delegates responsibility.
• Develops public communications to inform parents and community about the athletic program.
