Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in physical education and coaching preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
• Ability to communicate clearly with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individual participants in skills for achievement in the sport involved.
• Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in season.
• Oversees safety conditions of the facility during activities.
• Maintains statistics, records, and results of the season.
• Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior; establishes penalties as needed.
• Maintains competency in rules, meet procedures, and coaching techniques.
• Establishes eligibility criteria for interscholastic competition and adheres to them.
• Supports injury prevention and follow-up programs.
• Works with athletics director to schedule intramural and interscholastic contests.
• Recommends equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
• Maintains attendance forms and insurance records.
• Develops positive public communications with parents and the community.
