Job summary

Lewiston Public Schools seeks a dedicated coach for our athletic program. The stipend position involves coaching individual participants, planning a regular in-season practice schedule, and ensuring safety and discipline in all activities.

You will maintain season statistics, uphold injury prevention practices, and work with the athletics director on scheduling and equipment needs. Experience in physical education or coaching is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in physical education, coaching, first-aid, CPR, and sports medicine preferred.
• Ability to establish and enforce discipline and safety standards.
• Willingness to work with staff, students, and the athletics director.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individual participants in skills for achievement in the sport.
• Plans and schedules a regular in-season program of practice.
• Oversees facility safety when students are present.
• Maintains statistics, records, and results of the season.
• Enforces discipline and sportsmanship; sets eligibility criteria.
• Keeps current with rules, meet procedures, and coaching techniques.
• Coordinates injury prevention and follow-up practices.
• Works with athletics director on scheduling contests.
• Recommends equipment purchases; maintains attendance and insurance forms.
• Develops public communications about the athletic program.
