Job summary

Girard College is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Varsity Boys’ Soccer Coach. The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in instruction, training, and development of varsity male student-athletes in soccer.

The role emphasizes a positive, disciplined team culture, knowledge of soccer rules and strategies, and the ability to work within an educational athletic environment. Seasonal hours apply and a Bachelor’s degree is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of coaching experience at the high school, collegiate, or professional level.
• Completion of all PIAA coaching education requirements by the time of hire.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty, staff, and families.
• Commitment to the academic, athletic, and personal development of student-athletes.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach in planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of all aspects of the varsity soccer program.
• Teach soccer fundamentals, strategy, and sportsmanship.
• Support monitoring student-athletes’ academic progress, attendance, and performance.
• Assist in maintaining, storing, and organizing all team equipment.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes during practices and competitions.
• Follow department policies and attend meetings as requested.
