Job summary

Kentucky Country Day School in Louisville is seeking a Varsity Boys Lacrosse Defensive Coordinator to lead the defensive unit and mentor student-athletes. You will design defensive schemes, coach players, and promote sportsmanship and accountability within the program.

The role includes planning practices, reviewing game film, and collaborating with the Head Coach to foster a high‑level, values‑driven lacrosse culture across all levels of the program.

Qualifications

• Coaching and/or playing lacrosse at high school, collegiate, or club level.
• Strong knowledge of defensive strategies and communication.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Mentoring student-athletes and contributing to a positive team culture.
• Ability to meet KHSAA and Kentucky Country Day School coaching requirements, including background screening and certifications.

KCD is a JK-12 independent school in Louisville, Kentucky, committed to developing Citizens, Scholars, and Stewards. We are looking for a coach who is passionate about teaching the game of lacrosse while helping student-athletes grow as leaders, teammates, and young men.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement the varsity defensive system.

• Ability to meet KHSAA and Kentucky Country Day School coaching requirements, including background screening and required certifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Collegiate playing or coaching experience.


• Experience using game film and analytics to enhance player development.


• Experience working within a successful high school lacrosse program.
