Job summary

Proviso Township High Schools District 209 seeks a Boys Bowling Varsity Head Coach to lead and manage the athletic program for the sport. The role reports to the Director of Athletics and Activities and involves collaboration with students, faculty, administrators, and parents to build a competitive program.

The ideal candidate will hold an Illinois teaching certificate or NFHS/ASEP certification, complete required safety trainings, and demonstrate strong leadership and instructional skills.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois State Teaching Certificate or ASEP/NFHS Certification required.
• CPR and AED certification per IHSA regulations.
• IHSA concussion training and safety protocol knowledge.
• Background check and fingerprinting clearance.
• Completion of Title IX training.
• Coaching certification through ASEP/NFHS/IHSA-approved programs for non-teaching staff.
• Concussion certification valid for two years.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the Boys Bowling program.
• Demonstrate leadership, supervision, and organization in program implementation.
• Foster an inclusive environment for students, staff, and families.
• Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and the community.
• Plan and implement training programs based on best practices in bowling.
• Instruct athletes and assistant coaches in fundamentals, strategies, and safety.
• Ensure compliance with IHSA, ISBE, and district regulations.
• Collaborate with the Athletic Director to schedule games and manage equipment.
• Monitor student-athlete academic eligibility and mentor students.
