Job summary

Starting immediately, you will report to the Principal and Activities Director, and collaborate with coaching staff to organize practices, manage equipment, and uphold league policies while fostering team growth and positive student engagement.

Qualifications

• Alleghany Highlands Public Schools employee (preferred).
• Physical strength, dexterity, ability, and desire to complete duties.
• Knowledge of extracurricular activity (experience preferred).
• Compliance with Virginia High School League requirements.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with educational personnel, parents, students, and others.
• Cooperates with school administration.
• Develops positive rapport with all coaching staff within the school system.
• Organizes coaching staff.
• Develops positive relationships with students, faculty, parents, community, game officials, news media, and opponent.
• Motivates staff and players toward desired goals.
• Holds a pre-practice meeting with all assistant coaches.
• Designs preseason planning.
• Supervises managers and other support personnel.
• Manages budget.
• Follows purchasing procedures.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the activities director and/or principal.
