Job summary

Avondale High School in Auburn Hills, MI, seeks a Varsity Baseball Coach to develop players, teach fundamentals, and model positive sportsmanship within the school and community.

You will plan structured practices, coordinate off-season workouts, and work with administrators, students, parents, and the community to grow the baseball program. This is a 10–20 hour per week position under the Master Agreement. Successful candidates will inspire student-athletes to balance academics and athletics.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching baseball.
• Experience or plan of building a K-12 baseball program.
• Knowledge of scheduling practices and off-season workouts.
• Teach techniques and fundamentals of sport.
• Demonstrate all skills necessary for the sport.
• Knowledge about the rules and regulations of the sport.
• Assume responsibility for care of equipment and facilities.
• Conduct structured practices within specified times.

POSITION: VARSITY BASEBALL COACH
LOCATION: AVONDALE HIGH SCHOOL
REPORTS TO: ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
DATE NEEDED: ASAP
HOURS: 10-20 HOURS PER WEEK

JOB GOAL

To provide instruction of high school athletes in the fundamental skills and strategy of baseball and also instill moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline and self-confidence

WHAT WE NEED

• Be able to demonstrate all skills necessary for the sport
• Be knowledgeable about the rules and regulations of the sport
• Assume the responsibility for constant care of equipment and facilities being used
• Conduct structured practices that stay within the confines of the specified times at the Athletic Department
• Be an example ofgood character and sportsmanship to team at all times
• Conduct fundraisers to provide money for team supplies and needs

9. 9 . Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
