Job summary

Liberty Christian School in Argyle, TX is seeking an Upper School Assistant Coach to support the Varsity Head Coach in all aspects of the assigned sport. The role includes instructing athletes, coordinating practices, and supervising games and facilities.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree (preferred), excellent communication skills, and demonstrated leadership abilities. Experience in coaching and being CPR certified is highly preferred.

Position Purpose

The Upper School Assistant Coach will support the Varsity Head Coach for all aspects of the assigned sport in Upper School.

Essential Functions

• Instructs athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
• Provides instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, strong work ethic, responsibility, teamwork, sportsmanship, self‑discipline, leadership, and self‑confidence.
• Increase morale and cooperation within the school athletic program as well as the school community.
• Supervise all practices, games, team trips, locker rooms, and athletic facilities.
• Updates knowledge of technical aspects of the assigned sport and willingness to continue to learn and examine latest ideas pertinent to the assigned sport or coaching in general.
• Coordinates with the Varsity Head Coach in uniform and equipment maintenance as well as inventory.
• Adheres to policies within the athletic department and school to address issues or concerns.
• Updates the Varsity Head Coach frequently during the season about any issues, concerns, and/or highlights.
• Develop a weekly communication plan for parents and faculty.
• Adheres to the Student Protection Policy (SPP) procedures and training.
• Responsibilities and tasks outlined in this document are not exhaustive and may change as determined by the needs of the school.
