Job summary

The Varsity Assistant Golf Coach at Sylvania is expected to support the Head Coach in developing a positive, competitive high school golf program. You will help plan practices, supervise athletes, and provide instruction in golf fundamentals and course management.

Responsibilities include coordinating transportation and equipment needs, scheduling, and promoting academic achievement and leadership while following school and district policies.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching golf or athletic programs preferred.
• Certified staff preferred; if not secured, a non-certificated/community member may be hired.
• Experience promoting academic achievement and teamwork is a plus.

The Varsity Assistant Golf Coach will support the Head Coach in developing and maintaining a positive, competitive, and successful high school golf program.

Primary duties:

• Assist with planning and conducting practices, matches, and tournaments.
• Provide instruction in golf fundamentals, course management, rules and sportsmanship.
• Support the development of student-athletes at all skill levels.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, competitions, and team travel.
• Assist with equipment, transportation, scheduling, and other program needs.
• Promote academic achievement, teamwork, leadership, and positive sportsmanship.
• Follow all school, district, conference, and IHSAA policies and expectations.
• Perform other coaching duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.

Certified Staff Preferred. If a certified employee is not secured for this position, a non-certificated/community member may be hired.

In this case, salary will be paid over the three-month period in which the sport takes place.
