Job summary

El Toro Baseball is seeking a Varsity Baseball Assistant Coach to support the Head Coach and the athletic department in a high school program. The role emphasizes teaching fundamentals, student-athlete development, and upholding sportsmanship and academics.

The assistant will help plan practices, evaluate players, and ensure compliance with school and CIF rules while promoting a positive team culture.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and conducting practices and games.
• Teach baseball fundamentals, position-specific skills, and team strategies.
• Assist with player evaluations and development plans.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and team activities.
• Promote academic achievement, citizenship, sportsmanship, and character development.
• Support game preparation, scouting, equipment management, and field setup.
• Help maintain program equipment, uniforms, and facilities.
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, staff, and administration.
• Ensure adherence to school, district, league, and CIF rules and regulations.
• Support offseason training, camps, and player development opportunities.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for all student-athletes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.

Position Summary

The Varsity Baseball Assistant Coach assists the Head Coach in all aspects of the high school baseball program. The position is responsible for promoting student-athlete development, teaching baseball fundamentals, supporting competitive excellence, and fostering a culture of sportsmanship, accountability, and academic success. The Assistant Coach serves as a positive role model and representative of the school and athletic department.
