Job summary

Farmington Municipal Schools is seeking an Assistant Varsity Coach to support the Head Varsity Coach and Athletic Director in managing practices, games, and student development.

You will supervise players, help conduct practices through the season, and enforce behavior standards. This role requires appropriate coaching certifications and the ability to work with staff and students in a dynamic school environment.

Qualifications

• Certification required: National and/or State Coaching Certifications.
• Experience working with student-athletes in a school setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during practices and games.
• Ensure participants maintain acceptable behavior and decorum.
• Assist in conducting practices throughout the sport season and complete other tasks as assigned by head coach.

Supervisor: Head Varsity Coach

Position: Assistant Varsity Coach

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supervisor and authority: Head Coach, Athletic Director, and Principal. Shared authority with head coach over all players and season related activities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise students during practices and games including locker room, around the building, and gym area
• Ensure participants maintain acceptable standards of behavior and decorum.
• Assist in conducting and supervising practices throughout the sport season. Complete other tasks as assigned by the head coach.

Qualifications

Appropriate National and/or State Coaching Certifications.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit, stand, lift and carry (up to 50 pounds), reach, squat, kneel, perform prolonged typing, physically type on a keyboard terminal, and move equipment as required.

Equipment/Technology Handled

Must know how to properly operate or be willing to learn to operate equipment related to the sport, computer and other equipment as needed.

Work Environment

Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. After hour work may be required.
