Position Overview

The City of Lakewood is hiring a Swim Instructor to lead and conduct swimming lessons for participants. The role is a part‑time, variable position with a pay rate of $19.75 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Conduct swimming classes according to Lakewood Swim Instructor course descriptions and requirements.
• Provide competent leadership and a safe environment for students during class.
• Complete and distribute report cards and applicable swim lesson forms in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned and assist with seasonal operations as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 15 years.
• Experience as a swim lesson instructor required.
• Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification or Lakewood Swim Instructor training, or be in the process of obtaining certification.
• Background check required.
