The City of Lakewood is seeking a part-time personal trainer to design one-on-one programs, assess client needs, and monitor progress. The role supports the Fitness Specialist and Wellness Programs Administrator in multiple activities to promote safe, effective workouts for diverse clients.
Qualified candidates hold a recognized personal training certification and CPR/First Aid, with at least six months of experience, and are committed to customer service and safe exercise practices.

Pay Rate: $23.00/hr
Personal Trainers design customized one-on-one training programs and help motivate clients to exercise. The personal trainer is expected to assess the client, address needs and monitor fitness progress of their clients on a case by case basis. Personal trainers ensure that their clients are using proper form when exercising and often encourage them to perform a workout that would exceed what they would do alone. The position is directly supervised by the Fitness Specialist and Fitness and Wellness Programs Administrator, and will assist in a variety of areas, including, but not limited to:
Instruct clients on proper machine usage, techniques, and other forms of training pertinent to the client’s specific needs.
Educate clients on proper and safe exercise form.
Enforce policies and procedures in group fitness activity areas.
Execute risk management plan.
Maintain personal training certification.
Work within the scope of practice set forth by their certification and make recommendations as necessary.
The City of Lakewood is currently recruiting variable employees for this position. A variable employee is an at-will employee who works in a seasonal or temporary capacity. Their work schedule is based on business need. This position would be a part-time non benefitted position.
