Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a dependable Van Driver - Substitute to transport students and staff within the district as needed. This is a substitute role, called upon on an as-needed basis, with a focus on safety, reliability, and punctuality.

You will operate a district-owned van, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain trip records, and report any issues promptly. Strong communication and the ability to follow directions are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Able to pass background check and drug screening.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and follow directions.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with district and surrounding area is a plus.

• Transport students and/or staff to and from designated locations within the district
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers at all times
• Maintain accurate records of daily trips, including mileage and passenger information
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition
• Report any mechanical issues or accidents to the appropriate personnel
• Follow all district policies and procedures related to transportation
