WOODLAND PARK SCHOOL DISTRICT RE-2

Work Location: District

Title: Van Driver

Exempt Status: Non-Exempt

Position Status: Full time & Part time

Salary Range: $17.50-$20.00/hour (depending on experience) Days: Flexible Schedule Hours: 30-40/weekly

Qualifications
  • Meet or exceeds state, federal and local transportation regulations
  • Holds a valid driver license and complete the pre-service training program of the District
  • Pass a DOT physical examination and possess the physical and mental attributes of a good driver
  • Must be capable of driving a school van and possess the driving abilities and skills necessary to operate the vehicle in a safe manner

  • Ability to meet public in a cordial and helpful manner both in person and by telephone
  • Ability to ensure that confidential matters remain confidential
  • Ability to cooperate with co-workers and public
  • Ability to relate to and understand children
  • Ability to recognize when and when not to be a decision maker
General Duties
  • Safety and well-being of passengers
  • Observing safe driving practices
  • Preparing and filing necessary reports and forms promptly, neatly and accurately
  • Reporting safety hazards that may exist along the school bus route and other hazards the school bus operator may encounterConduct pre and post trip inspections, inspecting vehicle for defects or vandalism after each route or activity
  • Insuring vehicle will be secure until the next trip

  • Other tasks and duties assigned by the transportation director
