Job summary

Volunteers of America National Services (VOANS) is seeking a Van Driver for the Senior Community Care of Colorado PACE program in Montrose, CO. This position supports safe, timely transportation for participants and requires a valid CO driver’s license and a compassionate, customer-focused approach.

The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with occasional weekend hours, competitive pay ranging from $19.50 to $23.50 per hour, and benefits including insurance options and PTO.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver’s License in state of Colorado required.
  • Minimum of one year experience working with frail and elderly population.
  • Able to read and understand maps and routing information.
  • Knowledge of safety requirements pertaining to the transportation industry.

Responsibilities

  • Transports participants to and from medical/specialist appointments and activities as requested.
  • Transports meals, DME, pharmacy and other items as needed.
  • Responsible for passenger safety and satisfaction during transport.
  • Follows schedule and communicates changes to dispatch.

Pay Range: $19.50 - $23.50 per hour, based on previous work experience.

Schedules: Monday - Friday 7:30am-4:30pm with occasional weekends.

What You Bring (Requirements)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Valid Driver’s License in state of Colorado.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

The Van Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of Senior Community Care (SCC) participants and communicating any safety issue to the Transportation Manager.

  • Transports participants to and from medical/specialist appointments, and activity outings, as requested by the Interdisciplinary Team via the plan of care.
  • Transports meals, durable medical equipment, pharmacy, and any other items as deemed necessary for participant.
  • Responsible for Senior Community Care passengers during transport, providing care in a manner which ensures participant satisfaction.
  • Follows assigned schedule, makes adjustments to meet unanticipated changes, while considering the needs of the participant and requirements of the PACE Center. Communicates these changes to dispatch.
