Job description

Transportation: Van Driver

Compensation: $15.91 per hour during training and while working as a bus attendant; $18.73 per hour after fully trained as a driver.

Employment Type and Benefits:

  • Full Time - Optional benefits eligible, 6 hours/day
  • Part Time - non-benefits eligible, less than 6 hours/day

Location: ELSC - Transportation

Overview: To transport CRCSD students for morning and afternoon routes, including tie-ins, while managing appropriate student behavior.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Safely operate district vehicles, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  2. Transport students, ensuring safety and adherence to schedules.
  3. Manage student behavior and respond to emergencies.
  4. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report safety concerns.
  5. Complete all required documentation and reports timely.
  6. Follow all district policies, safety protocols, and legal requirements.
  7. Participate in training and professional development.
  8. Assist with special district transportation needs and vehicle maintenance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Valid Class D3 Chauffeur’s license.
  • Valid DOT physical and Medical Certificate.
  • Pass pre-employment and periodic background checks, drug and alcohol screenings, and driving history checks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 75 pounds.
  • Knowledge of or ability to navigate local areas.
