Job summary

Unknown Employer in Little Rock, AR seeks a Van Driver Certified Nursing Assistant to safely operate a vehicle and assist residents during transport. You will load/unload passengers, secure mobility devices, and maintain records of trips and mileage.

Requirements include a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 80 pounds, and a clean driving record. 6–12 months related experience is preferred, with health and retirement benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Skill in operation and basic maintenance of assigned motor vehicle
• Ability to find geographic locations
• Ability to follow oral/written instructions and keep a record of activities
• Ability to lift, maneuver, and support up to 80 pounds
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with residents and staff
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be 21 years of age
• Clean driving record

Responsibilities

• Extensive contact with patients/residents of a nursing home facility
• Assisting ambulatory and non-ambulatory individuals enter and leave the vehicle
• Ensuring that passengers are safely seated inside the motor vehicle
• Securing residents’ mobility devices such as walkers and wheelchairs
• Keeping a record of each bus trip and the residents who attended
• Documenting the mileage and time for each bus trip
• Performing preventive maintenance functions such as checking lights, maintaining fluid levels, checking tire pressure, etc. and notifying supervisory personnel of need for further service or repair

• Possession of a valid driver’s license

Experience:

• Six to 12 months of work experience operating, loading, and unloading a motor vehicle
• Any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience which has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities stated above
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or experience working in long term care a plus
