Job summary

The Northbridge Companies is seeking a Van Driver / Activities Assistant to support residents with safe transportation and engaging activities.

Shifts include Sunday 9am-3pm, Monday 9am-5pm, and Wednesday 9am-5pm; you will collaborate with the Engagement Director to run exercises, sessions, trips, and events.

Candidates should enjoy working with seniors, hold a valid driver's license with a clean record, and be patient, communicative, and reliable.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to operate a passenger van safely and responsibly.
• Love connecting with seniors and naturally get along with them.
• Good communication skills and the ability to interact positively with seniors.
• Respectful and patient attitude towards residents.
• Physical ability to assist residents with boarding and exiting the van.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from appointments, outings, and community events.
• Work with the Engagement Director to run activities such as exercise programs, sessions, art projects, trips, spiritual gatherings, and events with speakers and music.
• Ensure passenger comfort and well-being during transit.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van safely.
• Maintain van cleanliness and perform routine safety checks.
• Assist in community programs and activities as needed.
• Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and community members.
• Report issues or incidents promptly.
• Uphold a friendly and helpful demeanor to create a positive resident experience.
