Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1–3 months related experience or equivalent.
• Must pass Fingerprint background check, CORI, DPPC and driving background checks.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drives Lifeworks van to transport individuals from homes to worksites, adheres to MA laws and Lifeworks procedures.
• Supervises and ensures safety of all individuals in vehicles.
• Reports concerns regarding individuals on vehicle to supervisor.
• Ensures passengers wear seat belts during transport.
• Secures wheelchairs to safety restraints to stabilize during trips.
• Submit required documentation in a timely and complete manner (time sheets, attendance, incidents).
• Assists passengers into and out of vehicle as needed.
• Maintains communication with staff, families, and residential staff of individuals transported.
• Attends transportation meetings and trainings; observes Lifeworks time-off and overtime policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned based on company needs.

• Drives Lifeworks van to transport individuals from homes to worksites. Operates vehicle is a safe and legal manner, adhering to all laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and in accordance with Lifeworks Policies and Procedures. Maintains vehicle with respect to safety and cleanliness. Reports all vehicle and maintenance needs to supervisor or designee as soon as possible.
• Supervises and assures the safety of all individuals that are transported on their assigned vehicles.
• Reports all concerns and or issues regarding the individuals on vehicle to supervisor or designee as soon as possible.
• Ensures that all passengers utilize seat belts while being transported.
• Secures passengers' wheelchairs to safety restraints to stabilize wheelchairs during trip.
• Submit all necessary written documentation required in a timely and complete manner. These documents include, but are not limited to: Weekly personal time sheet (using Payroll System), monthly vehicle maintenance report, monthly individual attendance report and significant incident and accident reports as necessary
• Assists passengers (as necessary) into and out of vehicle.
• Maintains effective communication with other staff, families, and residential staff of individuals being transported.
• Attends all transportation meetings and in-service trainings necessary for the driver position. Adheres to Lifeworks Guidelines regarding time off notification and approval for overtime from supervisor of, in his/her absence, their designee.
• Other duties and/or assignments to work/program locations based on the needs of the company.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience driving vans is a plus and encouraged to apply
